February 9, 2010: InterSystems TrakCare™
The Global Accelerator Award™ has been awarded to InterSystems TrakCare™, following an announcement by the NHS National Service Scotland, which has selected TrakCare as the new national patient management system for Scotland.
The new system aims to speed and improve the effectiveness of patient care in Scotland by ensuring patient information will only need to be entered once to make it immediately accessible by authorized staff in other care settings. The TrakCare™ patient management system includes hospital and mental health patient administration, order communications, results reporting and clinical support tools.
Winners of the Global Accelerator Award™ are organizations or people who have helped propel into action an idea that holds the promise of dramatically improving patient care and human health throughout in the world. Health is considered broadly to include social determinants of health, including child and youth education. The Accelerator Award is based on an Innovation Cell methodology that analyzes which organizations or people have put an idea or strategy into action that has generated significant positive “buzz” or “chatter” on the World Wide Web – including patient-led blogs and social networking sites.
The Global Accelerator Award™ is powered by the Health Strategy Innovation Cell based at Massey College at the University of Toronto. The Innovation Cell specializes in making sense of online patient conversations around the world.
