Bill Tholl appointed as inaugural Executive Director of Canadian Health Leadership Network

The CHLNet Board of Directors in very pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Bill Tholl as the inaugural Executive Director of Canadian Health Leadership Network. CHLNet was founded in 2007 with the objective of uniting organizations and individuals committed to doing a better job of identifying, developing, supporting and celebrating excellence in health leadership in Canada .
Mr. Tholl participated in the creation of CHLNet and has extensive experience as a senior leader in Canada ’s health system. Most recently, he served as Secretary General of the Canadian Medical Association (2001-2008) and as National Executive Director of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (1995-2001). As a long-serving former federal public servant, he has spent over 30 years advancing the cause of health and health care in Canada and contributing directly to a wide range of programs and policies.
Currently, Bill is also a part-time Associate Faculty member with Royal Roads University (Centre for Health Leadership and Research) where he teaches graduate studies in health leadership. He also holds a part time appointment as a Senior Research Fellow with Canadian Policy Research Networks a non-partisan think tank located in Ottawa. He holds a Masters degree in health economics and his Institute of Corporate Directors Designation (ICD.D).
