The 'Doctor's Bag of the Future' Could be a 3-D Printer

Dr. Wong designed a solar-powered suitcase 3D printing system that can manufacture a range of hygienic, effective, and low-cost medical supplies at the point of use. She also designs 3D printable medical supplies to treat ill or injured astronauts during space missions. In 2014, Miss Wong was selected to be a United Nations Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Distinguished Fellow for her work on creating affordable 3D printable medical solutions to positively impact over one billion lives.

Julielynn Wong, MD, MPH, is a Chinese-Canadian physician who founded 3D4MD, which creates 3D printable medical supplies to deliver healthcare in the most challenging places to those who need it most.
