ICN Congress 2017: Website and Call for Abstracts Launched
International Council of Nurses 2017 Congress will be held in Barcelona, Spain, 27 May-1 June 2017
Geneva, Switzerland; 11 March 2016 - The International Council of Nurses (ICN) is pleased to release its Call for Abstracts and launch the website for its 2017 Congress and meeting of the Council of National Nursing Association Representatives (CNR). Headlined with the theme Nurses at the forefront transforming care, the Congress will take place in Barcelona, Spain from 27 May-1 June 2017. Instructions for submitting abstracts for the scientific programme and details on the themes to be addressed can be accessed at www.icncongress.com. Online submission of abstracts opens on 16 May 2016 and will close on 10 October 2016.
Inspiring plenary sessions will be dedicated to exploring the Congress theme, with particular focus on the Sustainable Development Goals, Human Resources for Health, Universal Health Coverage and Safe Staffing. Featured main sessions will offer the most recent expertise on patient-centred health care, evolving scopes of practice; climate change; infectious as well as noncommunicable diseases; mental health; migration; human rights; patient safety; policy; technology; leadership; education; and history. Themes for abstract submissions (concurrent sessions, symposia and posters) will address these issues plus developments in healthcare systems, health promotion, nursing workforce, disasters and regulation. The Congress will also be the venue for ICN Network meetings.
To share your ideas and expertise you are invited to submit an abstract for a concurrent session, a symposium or a poster. The abstract submission guidelines are now available on the Congress website: www.icncongress.com.
The Council of National Nursing Association Representatives (CNR), ICN’s global governing body, will also convene in Barcelona just prior to the Congress, from 26-28 May 2017. Congress participants who are members of ICN member associations will be able to observe global nursing leaders identify the profession’s priorities and future directions. The election of the new ICN Board 2017-2021 will also take place at this time.
