Abstract

The wide range of perspectives on globalization presented in the comments to the lead paper reflects both the complexity of the topic and the diverse cultural and political orientation, professional background and personal experience of each commentator. Their analytical effort generates interesting ideas and challenging questions, even though the image of globalization resulting from such contributions may be to some extent fragmentary and partial.
