Sociology of Health Care Decision: Exploration at a Public Hospital Dispensing Traditional Medicine in Bangladesh

Abstract

This study probes the Sociology of decision-making of people in seeking health-care at a public hospital in Bangladesh that deals with traditional medicine. This qualitative research used a mix of methods. It has characterized the interplay of some social elements with kinship and genderocentrism in decision-making. Nurturing of the social interrelationship and group behavior existing in Bangladesh is advocated for the continuity of community involvement in health and disease. Gender equity in decision making is hinted at.
