Electronic Daily Reporting of Community-Wide Healthcare Information
Ronald J. Lagoe and Gert P. Westert
Abstract
In recent years, the development of electronic healthcare data systems has proceeded rapidly in North America and Europe. It has been suggested that these systems can improve the efficiency of care, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of some conditions (Hilstead et al. 2005; Walker et al. 2005). It has also been proposed that the technology can measurably reduce per capita healthcare spending at the national level (Anderson et al. 2006).
