Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to suggest that changing the organizational structure of hospitals will provide better patient outcomes in a cost-effective manner.

The mission of the healthcare system is to maximize the health of the patients it serves, in a cost effective and timely way. Doctors and nurses are responsibly for front line patient care, supported by various patient services. Nurses have the more interaction with patients, and are the prime providers and facilitators of health care in hospitals today.
