Nova Scotia’s District Health Authorities Launch Public Policy Web Site
TORONTO, March 7, 2011 – Medworxx Inc. (“Medworxx”)(TSXV: MWX), provider of healthcare solutions for patient flow, compliance and education, is pleased to announce that Nova Scotia’s District Health Authorities have launched a province-wide public policy web site using the Medworxx Policy and Document Management System (PDMS). The site, OP3 – One Province, One Process, One Policy – will provide health care professionals and the public with access to district policies and procedures online.
“This site is an important step in facilitating more efficiencies in policy development across the province, said Sylvia Wist, Professional Practice Leader, Capital Health Authority. “We are moving towards having common templates for policy development as well as common definitions. Ensuring everyone uses the same terminology in the same way provides benefits for employees working in all health authorities across the province.”
The Medworxx PDMS was originally implemented in Nova Scotia at Capital Health Authority. There are now five sites live across the Province, with the remaining districts expected to be live sometime this spring. The 33,000 health employees across the province will all have access to consistent policies and procedures, and the public also has access to the site at http://policy.nshealth.ca
“Implementing a province-wide policy solution is a major accomplishment for both Medworxx and for Nova Scotia”, said Dan Matlow, President & CEO, Medworxx. “To the best of our knowledge, this is the only provincial hospital policy site rolled out in Canada. It is gratifying to see the Medworxx technology and implementation methodology effectively supporting this solution. As more and more of Canada moves into regional and provincial implementations, the experience we have gained from this rollout will be valuable to all stakeholders involved.”
