Become a peer reviewer for Nursing Leadership

The journal Nursing Leadership is seeking scholars and professionals with expertise in nursing and health services to serve as volunteer peer reviewers.  

Nursing Leadership is committed to timely, high-quality peer review. Reviewers are asked to evaluate manuscripts for clarity, originality, timeliness, research rigour and relevance to nurse leaders. They are asked to provide constructive feedback intended to improve the overall quality of the manuscript and to provide recommendations to the journal’s editors. 

Reviewer expectations 

To ensure rapid, high-quality reviews, we ask reviewers meet the following requirements:

• Hold a position as a scholar or professional in nursing or a related healthcare field.
• Have attained a graduate degree in nursing or related health science
• Have contributed as a (co-)author to peer reviewed publications with relevance to nursing and/or healthcare management.
• Agree to complete 2-3 reviews per year.
• Agree to complete reviews in a timely manner (typically, 3 weeks).
• Agree not to disclose information provided during the peer review process.
• Offer detailed, constructive comments with the intent of improving manuscript quality.

Recognition of the reviewer’s contribution

Nursing Leadership acknowledges the reviewer’s contribution to the high quality of the publication and to the editorial process by:

• 50% discount on all Longwoods’ journals
• Discounted rates on Open Access Fees for your own submission
• Acknowledgement on a list of reviewers active during the previous 12-month period, in the December issue of the journal.

How to become a peer reviewer for NURSING LEADERSHIP? 

If you are interested in serving as a reviewer for Nursing Leadership here are the instructions:

2. sign into your personal account 
   1. If you don’t have one yet, create one, all you need is your name and email
   2. If you aren’t sure if you have an account, please contact subscriptions@longwoods.com and we’ll confirm for you
3. From here you can fill in the form or edit it if you have already created a profile
4. Once you have created a profile this link will show up in your personal drop-down menu when you click on your name, and you’ll be able to sign in anytime to edit it.
