Saint Elizabeth Health Care Receives National Quality Institute Gold Award for Quality

Markham, ON (September 13, 2010) - Saint Elizabeth Health Care ("Saint Elizabeth") has been recognized by the National Quality Institute ("NQI") with its Gold Award for Organizational Quality and Healthy Workplace.

As the only home and community care service provider at Canada Awards of Excellence Gold Trophy level, Saint Elizabeth was rewarded for its focus on quality services and processes. With a vision to honour the human face of health care, Saint Elizabeth and all of its 4,500 employees take a keen interest in enabling the absolute best client experience. This commitment begins with a corporate team dedicated to continual improvement in all aspects of our business and is carried on by technology-equipped and passionate frontline staff.

"Saint Elizabeth has demonstrated significant effort in achieving the Level 4 certification in only four years", commented Allan Ebedes, President and CEO of the National Quality Institute. "Their ability to attain this recognition reflects the deep focus on innovation and quality that was in the organization even before their NQI journey."

"Our vision is about positively impacting our clients and the many others travelling through the healthcare system," says Shirlee Sharkey, President and CEO. "Adhering to the structured NQI approach supports our quest by driving a disciplined approach to our business and strategies. It also allows an objective external review our business model that provides valuable feedback on where we are succeeding and where we can improve."
