Closing the Gap Healthcare Group launches new Department of Research, Education and Corporate Social Responsibility

TORONTO, April 5 /CNW/ - Closing The Gap Healthcare Group is proud to announce the launch of its new Department of Research, Education and Corporate Social Responsibility. In response to partner demand, a dedicated department will facilitate a centralized approach to healthcare research and allow Closing The Gap Healthcare Group to forge strategic partnerships in the community. A rich network of skilled practitioners and community partners provide the foundation to build a strong research team.

The Department of Research, Education and Corporate Social Responsibility, aims to meet the rapidly changing education needs of all caregivers and ensures the transfer of knowledge into practice through the most current education tools and channels.  "We are shaping future community healthcare through innovative research", says Dr. Sheila Ritcey, Director of Research and Development.

Closing The Gap Healthcare Group has been involved in research, education development and delivery, and Corporate Social Responsibility for many years, thereby contributing to the best healthcare possible for people of all ages.

Dr. Sheila Ritcey, Director of RECSR

Originally a physiotherapist, Sheila completed a MA and PhD examining "Competence in the Institutionalized Elderly". She taught for many years in the Gerontology Program at Humber College and continues her role as an educator at the University of Toronto and Ryerson University. She also sits on several community advisory boards. Her involvement in a wide range of educational programs provides her with a comprehensive view of the changing role of caregivers in all disciplines and for all clients young to old.
