MED2020 Health Care Software Inc. forms collaboration with CriticalControl Solutions Inc.

MED2020 Health Care Software Inc. and CriticalControl Solutions Inc. share complementary technology to enhance document management services for Health Information Management professionals

OTTAWA, ON (MED2020) 31 May 2011 – MED2020 Health Care Software Inc., a Canadian pioneer in Health Information Management solutions, is collaborating with Calgary, Alberta-based, CriticalControl Solutions Inc., to offer an outsourced conversion service bureau component to MED2020’s Digital Archiving Solution (MDAS) in order to assist hospitals in successfully implementing their document management strategies.

MED2020’s decision to work with CriticalControl enables the company to provide increased options to its clients and also provides CriticalControl with the opportunity to expand its imaging and conversion services in the Canadian health care market. Both companies are leaders in their area of expertise and joining forces strengthens the long-term strategies of both companies and their commitment to the health information management and patient care sectors.

Judy Ruest, Chief Strategy Officer at MED2020, explains “Our Digital Archiving Solution, MDAS, will benefit greatly from its access to CriticalControl’s outsourced data conversion services experience. We are delighted to be working with a company that has its roots in Canada and which is as firmly committed as we are to easing the transition for hospitals from paper to digital records”.

With offices across the main centres in Canada and in the US, CriticalControl is a publicly traded company and a trusted source of imaging and conversion services to hospitals, health authorities and specialty clinics with over a decade’s experience. Nizar Huddani, Vice President, Operations, of the company, says “This is a collaboration that leverages the expertise of both CCS and MED2020. Most importantly it provides a set of solutions beneficial to our mutual customers”.

The alliance between MED2020 and CriticalControl enables health care organizations to be confident of an easy record conversion process, timely access to, retrieval and sharing of medical records, lab files and health claim correspondence, cost savings related to physical storage and long-term archiving of critical patient records.

The product and services joint offerings are scheduled to roll out to hospitals across Canada from May 2011 onwards.
