Progress Report 2011: Health care renewal in Canada
Toronto (May 31, 2011) - Today, the Health Council of Canada releases Progress Report 2011: Health care renewal in Canada, which provides a pan-Canadian view on key government commitments in the 2003 First Ministers' Accord on Health Care Renewal and the 2004 10-Year Plan to Strengthen Health Care.
The report highlights progress at the federal, provincial and territorial levels in five key areas: wait times, pharmaceuticals management, electronic health records, teletriage and health innovation. The report states that good progress has been made, though it is not consistent across the board and varies by jurisdiction.
