SAN BRUNO, Calif., March 28, 2012 /CNW/ - Aditazz was named the winner of Kaiser Permanente's "Small Hospital, Big Idea" competition. Aditazz was selected after a year-long evaluation process that concluded last week in Los Angeles when the finalists presented their designs for a small, net-zero-energy hospital that uses new technology to improve health care delivery and outcomes. Out of the 108 entrants in the design competition, Aditazz tied for the first place with M+NLB/Perkins+Will.

The revolutionary platform developed by Aditazz deploys an entirely new end-to-end process for delivering built-environments for healthcare. Kaiser's criteria for selecting the Aditazz design included creation of spaces that inspire human-to-human connection and collaboration, inclusion of civic spaces that blur the boundaries between the community and the traditional hospital setting, and extensive use of technology platforms that enable designers to virtually explore an almost unlimited number of operational and space scenarios before committing to a design.
"This victory validates the basic premise that Aditazz was founded on: Built-Environments in Healthcare are primed for disruptive innovation," said Aditazz co-founder Deepak Aatresh, a veteran of the micro-chip design industry. "The final design was a perfect amalgamation of creativity and computation – exactly what you would expect from cross-boundary collaboration," added Felicia Cleper-Borkovi, AIA, project lead for the competition, and a healthcare architect of global repute.
