Multi-Announcement - Sept 2007 - Courtyard Group Strengthens Central Canada Presence to Support Provincial and Regional Healthcare Transformation Efforts

Abstract

Toronto, September 14, 2007 - Courtyard Group is pleased to announce the addition of three new Principals - Tim Beasley, Linda Dentay and Ian Fish - to its Toronto office, rounding out the depth and diversity of the skills within the senior ranks of that office.
The addition of these three seasoned professionals enhances Courtyard's ability to help central Canadian healthcare customers improve the quality of clinical outcomes, increase access to clinical services, increase patient safety and satisfaction, and ensure the financial sustainability of the healthcare system.

"We're all very excited about having this caliber of people come aboard to be part of Courtyard's ongoing efforts to help regional and provincial healthcare authorities tackle their most pressing issues," says Dave Wattling, managing partner, Courtyard Group, who goes on to cite access-to-care issues and chronic disease management as two key areas on today's healthcare agenda where Courtyard is already helping clients design and implement transformational strategies.

Having worked previously at American Management Systems, Systemhouse and Sierra Systems Group, Tim brings to Courtyard an exceptionally strong management consultant track record that spans nearly 30 years in both Canada and the United States. Highlights of his consulting experiences include: large program/project definition, management and oversight; strategic systems planning; information modelling; requirements definition; feasibility analysis; large proposal development; and management of major procurement processes. Tim's focus has been primarily on eGovernment and eHealth, where he has led large teams on major, complex engagements for very large clients. Most recently, Tim served as Group Program Director, Public Health Surveillance and Laboratory Systems at Canada Health Infoway.

Linda is an accomplished technology executive with a successful track record and specialized expertise in the financial, healthcare and technology sectors. From her work at Kipling Medical Labs, York Central Hospital and CIBC, Linda brings more than 20 years of experience driving new technology introduction and delivering strategic business change initiatives. Returning to healthcare after 10 years, she is well positioned to apply the rigor and advanced processes that the banking industry has around security, high-volume transaction processing and systems integration, as well as best-practices-based processes for technology development, implementation and operations. Linda is committed to the application of technology as an enabler for business transformation to deliver sustainable value and to make a difference.

Ian is a seasoned information management professional and epidemiologist with more than twenty years of healthcare experience. Previously, he held two concurrent healthcare positions in Manitoba - the CIO for the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and the CIO for Manitoba Health - which provided valuable experience in regional and provincial shared service eHealth organizations and left him well versed in hospital, regional and government collaborations. Ian has extensive knowledge of Canadian healthcare information technology strategy at multiple levels, including community health services, hospitals, health regions, and provincial and federal governments. His information management career is grounded in senior healthcare management experience within the acute-care and community-care environments as well as academic experience in community health sciences. He also served as the Healthcare Industry Director for Oracle Canada, and has experience with large scale HIS projects.

"The challenges facing the Canadian health system are becoming even more acute as the population expands and the baby boomer generation moves into middle age and beyond," adds Wattling. "The addition of these highly qualified people puts us in a much better position to help our clients step up to those challenges."
