Longwoods Publishing is pleased to introduce . . . The HIMSS Virtual Conference & Expo

Abstract

The HIMSS Virtual Conference & Expo includes:
  • Educational seminars featuring presentations on interoperability, integration, IT adoption, privacy & security, ROI, quality, and patient safety. Those unable to attend live presentations will have access to them afterward.
  • Live education sessions allowing for follow-up questions via text message.
  • Exhibit hall with vendor booths: Attendees will be able to virtually visit staffed vendor booths, gather information on the latest breaking technology and chat with vendors.
Attendees will fill out a profile that includes information about their institution and needs, which can be accessed by vendors and colleagues during chats. They will have the option of communicating "live" through text messaging or via an internal email system, to prevent spamming to the external email. The conference even includes a virtual lounge, where attendees can "chat" with their colleagues. Attendees looking for specific health IT solutions can use keywords to search throughout the conference for vendors offering the technology.

Those at the conference can toggle back and forth between the conference and non-conference work as they choose. Telephone technical support and chat sessions will be available throughout the conference for those who have questions.

Admission is free for the trade show floor and keynote speakers. Charges for the educational sessions (whether one or all are attended) are:

Before March 31: HIMSS Members: $85 Non-Members: $110

After March 31: HIMSS Members $175 Non-members - $225

To join the conference, attendees need only a Web browser and Flash capabilities. Those without Flash will be able to download it when first entering the conference.
