WEB IMPACT
According to COMScore Media Matrix the biggest gains on the web were made by Social Networks and collaborative websites. We're listening. Our blog, Facebook presence (log in to add Longwoods as a friend), pod casts, video casts, "ask the experts" and other features are important links within the healthcare community.
LEARNING PROGRAMS
Our Breakfast with the Chiefs programs in Toronto and Vancouver will evolve and [starting this fall] include two additional locations - Quebec and Alberta. We will present even more speakers as we introduce great minds in dialogue. Average registration last year exceeded one hundred and forty (140) - leaders and emerging leaders with a mix of policy makers and administrators. Formal collaboration with a major university is expected to launch our mentoring program over the next year [We want to do it right and the program will have undergone a rigorous review that will subsequently by published). Half day Healthcare Rounds will cover Chronic Care and the Patient Experience. Ideas Panels will focus on High Performance Organizations and the Quality Imperative.
PUBLICATIONS
Our directory of publications will be fortified with special issues (primary care, patient safety, quality programs and more) and online exclusives. Two new journals covering public health and supply chain management will round out the catalog.
eLETTERS
Our multiple eLetters are enjoying global readership. Their focus on policies and best practices makes the very limited commercial messages valuable commodities: they too are carefully selected to provide new ideas, policies and practices. The letter is syndicated by both private sector and public sector organizations.
PRINT
All of this is tied together with our print publications program. YES. We will keep print as readers are making it clear that a "journal in the hand is easily worth two on the web". Banks are building branches, retailers are creating inviting shopping experiences and we are holding on to the value readers see in tactile print products and face-to-face learning programs.
