Abstract

Health Canada's vision for Canada's healthcare system is based on e-health improving the quality, accessibility and effectiveness of healthcare. It features a pan-Canadian electronic health record, a range of integrated provider solutions and trusted health information for all Canadians. The federal government is well positioned to provide the focus and leadership for changes to the heath system, and can act as a broker that brings together the provinces and territories around a common agenda for information and communications technologies.
