Abstract

We are gratified by the number and thoughtfulness of the responses to our paper. Regionalization is clearly a provocative topic, and the commentators have addressed several important issues. We cannot do justice to them individually without writing yet another full-length paper. Instead, we highlight the major themes that emerge from the responses, and in the process clarify a few of our original points that may have been obscure.
