Abstract

Fraser Health's PACS project is regarded by many as a great success. However, this paper outlines some of the lessons learned during the PACS implementation, as well as additional knowledge that, in hindsight, would have been beneficial to have had prior to starting the project. Canada Health Infoway partnered with Fraser Health in the PACS project, which provided a strong focus on sharing the experience and best practice of the implementation for the benefit of other Canadian jurisdictions. Fraser Health's culture of learning and sharing has been augmented by the Infoway partnership, as project team members were invited to contribute lessons learned at key stages in the project.
