Abstract

Longwoods Publishing is collecting photographs of doors that welcome patients to health care facilities. Other architectural gems are welcome too. We have seen some magnificent designs that have stood the test of time or have just been unveiled. Here is one example at Princess Margaret Hospital.

We are looking for doors and architectural details that are unusual, significant, historic, and Beautiful. We are looking for style, related stories and fame. So if you have a shipping door or something with some great graffiti (I saw some on hoarding in Brockville once.) send it along.

Please send us 1) a scanned photo or a digital photo and 2) the name and location of the door/building; 3) a description and the names of the designers/architects/graffiti artists - if you have them.

The best will be published in the journal Healthcare Quarterly. Please send them to Eric Hart, our design adjutant, at ehart@longwoods.com. We'll let you know if you are selected.
