Anne Landesman, Mary Murphy, Joy Richards, Jean Smyth and Ben Osakue
Abstract
This paper describes a unit-based quality improvement initiative to ameliorate mouth care of elderly residents in a long-term care facility. Using the Nursing Role Effectiveness Model developed by Irvine et al. (1998) as the organizing framework, this project highlights the importance of the nurse's role in quality improvement initiatives.
