Best Practices in Project Management: Lessons Learned in Hospital Construction
Abstract
On time and under budget serve no purpose if the end product is not up to user specifications. The Credit Valley Hospital's recent construction project, Carlo Fidani Peel Regional Cancer Centre and the Vijay Jeet and Neena Kanwar Ambulatory Care Centre, is a case in point. This project is considered a success from the standpoint of budget, schedule and stakeholder satisfaction. The project was completed within the parameters of time and quality, was $10 million under the budgeted cost and exceeded user expectations. Moreover, the result is a physical representation of the hospital's vision, mission and values. Â
