An Example of Successful Partnering
In January 1999, Ontario's Nursing Task Force released its report Good Nursing, Good Health: An Investment for the 21st Century. It included a series of recommendations to create access to high-quality nursing services in Ontario. In response, the Ontario government invested over $800 million dollars in nursing services, research and outcomes evaluation, and recruitment and retention initiatives. We are very pleased that the Nursing Best Practices Guidelines (NBPGs) have been developed as a part of this funding and congratulate the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) on the outstanding leadership they have demonstrated to achieve this goal.
