Abstract:

Cancer treatment has changed dramatically over the past decade, and more therapies can now be given safely outside the hospital. Ontario already has pilots underway, and other provinces are testing their own approaches. This one-day summit will bring together senior leaders from across the oncology ecosystem to explore what this shift will take and how health system partners can work together to accelerate it. What we learn in cancer care can also inform other areas of the health system facing similar challenges.

Additional Information:

Throughout the day, participants will explore:

  • Where community-based cancer care is heading in Ontario, and lessons from other jurisdictions
  • How hospitals and community providers can keep care connected for patients
  • The digital, clinical and operational infrastructure required to support these new models of care
  • How leaders from the public, private and not-for-profit sectors should prioritize new Ontario collaboration opportunities
  • The insights and implications for the broader health care system from new innovations in cancer care delivery
