Breakthroughs in the health sciences offer tremendous hope to patients and the public. But with progress come new legal, policy, and ethical challenges. The University of Ottawa Centre for Health Law, Policy and Ethics is a hub for interdisciplinary research and training. The Centre is housed in the Faculty of Law but draws its members from Law, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Management, and Medicine. With 23 faculty and over 180 trainees, fellows, and research assistants and associates this year, it is the largest centre of its kind in Canada and one of the largest in the world. It is ideally located in Canada’s capital to export ideas and evidence to policy makers and other stakeholders.
