Abstract
This study assesses the quality of family planning services provided by the community-based field workers in Dhaka City, Bangladesh. The findings are based on a large household survey of a representative sample of clients, direct observation, and interviews with field workers and clients. The areas identified by the assessment that are in greatest need of improvement include frequency of contact with clients who are non-users or who have special needs, client education about family planning methods, and counseling about side effects and warning signs.
