A new survey finds that primary care physicians are disappointed with their salaries, but largely satisfied with their careers. According to the study from Physicians Practice magazine and physician recruitment firm Merritt Hawkins, 53% of primary care physicians feel "let down" by their salary. While almost 70% of respondents indicated they are "very satisfied" or "somewhat satisfied" with their careers, only 38% said they would enter primary care medicine if they were to start over again. Overhead costs were also a major concern for respondents. Roughly 60% of physicians estimated that between 40 and 70% of their revenue is spent on overhead.
