Nearly 70% health information management professionals participate in document improvement programs during electronic health record implementations, but just 39% are involved in quality improvement programs, according to a survey in the Journal of the American Health Information Management Association.

The survey found that 61% of HIM professionals work on an EHR steering committee and that 30% lead or participate in data standards adoption.
