Nurse informaticists are most likely to be involved in the development and adoption of nursing clinical documentation and clinical information systems, with 77 per cent reporting participating in each, according to a new survey by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.

The survey, sponsored by McKesson, also found that 57 per cent of nursing informaticists report participating in the development and adoption of electronic health record systems, 46 per cent in computerized physician order entry systems, and 34 per cent in bar-coded medication management systems.
