FACTS AND STATS

Only 37% of Canadian primary care physicians use electronic health records, according to a Commonwealth Fund survey of more than 10,000 primary care physicians in 11 countries conducted from February to July 2009. Canada had the lowest EHR adoption rate among primary care physicians. In comparison, 97% of primary care physicians in Norway, 96% of primary care physicians in the United Kingdom and 95% of primary care physicians in Australia use EHRs. South of the border, 46% of U.S primary care physicians use EHRs.
