Where Are We Going from Here?

Abstract

Most expert observers agree that regionalization is merely a vehicle to achieve a number of concurrent health system objectives. Yet, regionalization cannot be an end in itself. Moreover, there is likely no optimal degree of decentralization or centralization that will produce better health system performance.
