Roche Canada Strengthens its Commitment to Canadian Patients with the Appointment of a Chief Patient Experience Officer

Hoffmann-La Roche Limited (Roche Canada) proudly announces the addition of Lisa Petermann to its senior leadership team as the newly appointed Chief Patient Experience Officer. This trailblazing role is designed to serve as a catalyst and coach to senior leaders across the Canadian affiliate, embedding a patient-inclusive mindset throughout Roche and the life sciences sector.

“Patients are no longer passive recipients but rather active participants in the care they receive and the decisions that impact them,” said Brigitte Nolet, CEO and President, Roche Canada Pharma. “With Lisa Petermann as our new Chief Patient Experience Officer, we are elevating our commitment to patients to ensure their voice is present in decision-making across the organization.”

Drawing from a wealth of lived experience both as a caregiver and as a patient, Lisa has a unique perspective. Twenty years ago, she lost her mother to cancer, and a decade later, she endured a hit-and-run car accident. The impact of these intense experiences and the journey that followed has profoundly shaped her life. She has acquired an in-depth understanding of patient care, equipping her with the skills to navigate the complexities of the healthcare system and advocate for better outcomes. She will leverage this invaluable knowledge, along with her 15 years of experience in the health sector, both in Canada and internationally, to excel in her new role.

“Health is something we take for granted until we don’t," said Lisa Petermann, Chief Patient Experience Officer, Roche Canada. "When that moment arrives, the difference in care is profound when your perspective is actively sought and your needs are considered. Listening to today’s patients to anticipate their needs tomorrow will enable us to provide the right care at the right time. I am inspired by Roche's commitment to enhancing patient care and look forward to making a meaningful impact alongside this incredible team.”

At Roche, we believe that we have a responsibility to improve the quality of people's lives by ensuring rapid and equitable access to our innovations. This belief drives our philosophy that everything we do for patients, we do with patients – as partners every step of the way. As Chief Patient Experience Officer, Lisa Petermann will ensure the unique experiences, expertise, and perspectives of patients are represented from clinical trial design through to market access and beyond.
