Moral distress among nurses is just one of the issues the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) is working to address within the health-care system. President Kimberly LeBlanc says nurses are forced to ask themselves: “Who do I give the extra care to?” These moral dilemmas cause distress that is known to interfere with mental health, cause burnout and high turnover.
