Yet new survey data suggest that many Canadians feel the gap between expectation and reality is widening, particularly when it comes to timely access to routine care. According to this new report from MedExpress Canada, nearly half of Canadians (48%) waited longer than one week for their most recent routine medical appointment, despite only 23% believing that a wait of more than a week is reasonable. The findings point to a growing mismatch between what Canadians expect from their healthcare system and what they actually experience.
