Bell named one of Canada's Top 100 Employers - Recognized for Bell Let's Talk leadership in workplace mental health

MONTRÉAL, Nov. 9, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Bell is proud to be named one of Canada's Top Employers for 2016 by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers, a publication of Mediacorp Canada.
"Bell is honoured to be recognized for our company-wide efforts to ensure the well-being of our employees, particularly for Bell Let's Talk programs that support our strategy of leadership in mental health," said Bernard le Duc, Executive Vice President, Corporate Services for Bell Canada and BCE. "This award underscores the clear benefits for business of embracing the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace and best practices in ensuring a mentally healthy work environment."
In selecting Bell as one of Canada's top employers, Mediacorp acknowledged the company's leadership in workplace mental health through investment in mental health training and professional development, and commitment to sharing experiences and best practices with other employers. In addition, Mediacorp recognized Bell for its:
  • New grad and next generation talent development programs including mentoring and leadership training initiatives, summer employment opportunities, paid internships, apprenticeships, and co-op work terms.
  • Strong support for employee participation in volunteer programs.
  • Campus environments that offer state-of-the-art facilities and a variety of professional services.
  • A healthy work atmosphere with strong in-house communications.
  • Competitive financial benefits with annual salary review and comprehensive benefits program.
  • In-house and online professional development and training programs
  • Employee engagement and formal recognition programs.
The Canada's Top 100 Employers competition is the largest editorial project of its kind in Canada, with thousands of employers taking part in each year's application process. The distinguishing feature of the project is that its editors publish detailed reasons, providing transparency in the selection of winners and practical guidance for job-seekers about exceptional workplaces. Each employer is graded by Mediacorp editors on eight key areas: Physical Workplace; Work Atmosphere & Social; Health, Financial & Family Benefits; Vacation & Time Off; Employee Communications; Performance Management; Training & Skills Development; and Community Involvement. The same eight criteria have been applied since the competition was launched over 15 years ago.
