Health & Healthcare News

John King and Gino Picciano join Odgers Berndtson’s Health Care Practice

We are pleased to announce John King and Gino Picciano have joined Odgers Berndtson’s National Health Care Practice as Strategic Client Advisors. Building on our commitment to provide our clients with deep sector expertise,  John (based in Toronto) and Gino (based in Ottawa) will contribute their significant experience as respected leaders in the health care sector to our search assignments with  academic and community hospitals, community care organizations and government agencies.

Drawing on their extensive operational knowledge and contacts within the health care sector, John and Gino will work closely with our National Health Care Team, led by Penny Mirams, to provide strategic guidance throughout the search process. More specifically, as part of the Odgers Berndtson team, they will help set the strategy for search assignments, advise our clients on stakeholder engagements, and provide insight on specific candidates.

John King is a leader in the field with over 30 years of health care experience in senior operational roles in Ontario, Alberta and Saskatchewan.  John is well known for his senior executive roles as Assistant Deputy Minister, MOHLTC and Chief Administrative Officer and Executive Vice-President at St Michael's Hospital.   A Certified Health Executive with the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL), he was appointed as Chair of the College’s Board in June 2010.   John has a Master in Health Administration from the University of Ottawa and a B.A. (Economics/Math) from the University of Western Ontario.

Gino Picciano retired from his Senior Vice-President & Chief Operating Officer position at The Ottawa Hospital in 2012, following a 30 year career in progressively senior positions in the health sector.   He has been instrumental in a number of regional initiatives, most notably the creation of the Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association (EORLA).  Gino is a Certified Health Executive with CCHL and served as the Ontario Co-Director on the Board of Directors from 2011-2015.  He is a graduate of the University of Ottawa, where he obtained his Master in Health Administration and a graduate of McGill University where he obtained his B.Sc. in Physical Therapy.

We believe that John and Gino’s unique perspective will help us continue to strengthen our client-centered approach to your talent needs.
