Michael Sherar
Michael Sherar, President and CEO, Cancer Care Ontario
Michael has led Cancer Care Ontario’s development of regional cancer care programs, including capital planning for cancer services across the province and the development of the Ontario Cancer Plan 2011–2015.
He is a professor of medical biophysics at the University of Toronto and an affiliate scientist at University Health Network, where he carries out research and development of minimally invasive thermal therapy technologies for cancer, including radiofrequency ablation.
In 2001, Michael was was selected as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 for achievements in leadership. He holds a baccalaureate in physics from Oxford University and a doctorate degree in medical biophysics from the University of Toronto.
