Sarah Wall has provided an accurate description of the contemporary private practices of nurses – an area of practice for which scant information is available. Little guidance is accessible to nurses who wish to enter this area of practice. In other health professions, the expectation is that some practitioners will set up private practices, yet nurses are typically unprepared for this role. Nurses who wish to take on a private practice, therefore, require support and education.
