The World Health Organization has declared tuberculosis a global health emergency. Despite the availability of excellent therapeutics, tuberculosis care in Canada is often sub-optimal. Four Toronto-area healthcare organizations have initiated a disease-management program in tuberculosis seeking to improve the quality of care, improve compliance and, ultimately reduce care costs.
