Nursing Leadership: Perspectives and Insights
A Personal Leadership Development Plan for Black Undergraduate and Graduate Nursing Students
Abstract
Nursing leadership is a journey that begins in nursing school. Whether it is at the diploma, baccalaureate or graduate level, nurses and nursing students are provided the tools to develop and refine their leadership capacity throughout their career. Cope and Murray explain that all nurses have the capacity to be leaders and thus require training that enhances this role. In this paper, I share insight into my personal journey of nursing leadership by describing a leadership development plan that has guided my journey thus far and will continue to guide the remainder of my doctoral studies and nursing practice.
