Longwoods announces free recruiting for front line/bedside nurses

Longwoods recognizes that recruiting for nurses does not play out on a level field. Small, low budget organizations have to compete with large well-funded hospitals and care providers.

Until now.

The job portal Jobs.Longwoods.com is set up to provide free recruiting for front line/bedside nurses. To keep this fair, the postings have to come directly from the employer and not a hired agency.

The job portal is a member of the Longwoods family of online products. It is designed to reach out to well-read professionals in healthcare, students and readers of our journals, letters, and resources reviewed by expert nurse editors from across the country.

Employers can post as many front line/bedside nurse positions as they want. Once they register as an employer they are good to go.

When first announced Alberta Health posted some 100 positions. It worked and it worked well. And now all employers are invited to post any number of positions. As long as the position is classified as front line and/or bedside.

Longwoods notes that their readers are a good place to start and are likely well informed. They are attracted to the website for its best-read journals including Nursing Leadership + an array of additional resources: news, original ideas, studied policies and leading practices. Much of it contributed and edited by nurses. Editors like Dr. Lynn Nagle, Dr. Dorothy Pringle and the editor in chief of everything -- Dr. Peggy Leatt – are all nurses. Editorial oversight is by a board assembled by the Academy of Canadian Executive Nurses. Academy members are the nurses who drive the recruitment, training, evaluation and workplaces for the nursing workforce.

Readers and potential recruits come from Canada, every province, every city and the rest of the world. Statistics are available on request.
