The Quantum Leader: Applications for the New World of Work. By Kathy Malloch and Tim Porter-O'Grady

Claire Mallette

Abstract

The Quantum Leader: Applications for the New World of Work is written to address the complexities and changing times of healthcare. No longer can leaders rely on Newtonian-age change theories, such as Lewin's model, which describes three phases of change as unfreezing, moving to a new level and then refreezing. In today's healthcare system, there is little time to unfreeze, let alone refreeze. Malloch and Porter-O'Grady identify how the cycle of change is continuous, with everything constantly moving, shifting and becoming. Such an environment requires leaders to move beyond Newtonian theories of change and develop quantum- age skills and strategies.
